In a few weeks, the world's top equine athletes amass in Kentucky's Bluegrass region, for the biggest equestrian event in world history.
Focused in Lexington, Ky., the 16-day competition involves more than 800 riders and horses from 60 countries competing in front of 600,000 spectators.

The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games are the world championships for the eight equestrian disciplines recognized by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) and are only held every four years. This year's games marks a series of firsts: The first time this event has ever taken place outside Europe; the first time it has a title sponsor-Alltech; the first time the para-equestrian championships will be contested; and, the first time all events will be held in one location-the 1,200 acre Kentucky Horse Park. It's also the first time MFA has been associated with the games.
