MFA’s Twenter among finalists for AGCO Operator of the Year
Shane Twenter, a custom applicator with MFA Agri Services in Boonville, Mo., was among the top three finalists for AGCO’s 2022 Operator of the Year award. He was recognized for this accomplishment Nov. 30 at the Agricultural Retailers Association (ARA) Annual Conference in San Diego.
The award recognizes the skills, dedication and customer service demonstrated by application professionals to their local communities. Other finalists were Kourtney Kaemming of The Jewell Grain Company in Defiance, Ohio, and Patrick Hoefling of Nutrien Ag Solutions in Odebolt, Iowa, who was ultimately named Operator of the Year.
“Application is an increasingly vital component of sustainable farming, and the services these professionals deliver increase farmers’ yields, strengthen the economies of farming communities and help feed a growing world,” said David Fickel, application senior marketing manager for Fendt, one of AGCO’s equipment brands. “Those values are what Operator of the Year honors.”
Twenter joined the staff at Boonville MFA after serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked his way up to custom applicator, first running the lime machine and then a sprayer. He now operates the location’s Rogator dry fertilizer spreader.
“Shane is a quick learner and picked up on how to run a sprayer in no time,” his nominators said in the application. “When the position opened up for someone to run the Rogator, he expressed interest and has done a great job. Customers know that when Shane is in the machine, they can count on him to get the job done efficiently and accurately.”
Twenter and his wife, Kayla, live in Boonville and have two children, Ada and Stetson.
